A simple drink to get rid of hyperpigmentation
These days, taking care of your skin is a necessary daily routine. That is predominantly due to constant sun exposure, alcohol, smoking, hormonal imbalance and inflammatory processes that cause several skin problems.
What even is hyperpigmentation?
To put it simply, hyperpigmentation is our body producing excessive amounts of melanin. This includes redness and inflammation and can happen on any body part. It affects all skin types and is caused by acne, genetics, hormone changes and physical skin damage. Types of hyperpigmentation are age spots, melasma, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Many look for quick fixes and want natural treatment. The terms – quick and natural – usually do not go together, so we always strive for the motto “prevention is better than cure”. We can fight hyperpigmentation by eating certain foods. A drink, with an excellent combination of phytochemicals, is an excellent remedy against skin ageing and pigmentation spots.
We need only 4 naturally effective ingredients – pineapple, Matcha powder, ginger powder and mint leaves.
- Pineapple is rich in vitamins C and E needed for skin firmness and elasticity. The enzymes found in pineapple eliminate dead skin cells and reduce the appearance of blackheads, so they are ideal for anyone struggling with persistent acne. Speaking of solutions, pineapple is also naturally anti-inflammatory. This excellent fruit helps reduce unwanted spots, redness and swelling. It is basically the answer to all our skincare dreams.
- Ginger powder helps with common facial skin problems we secretly wish didn’t exist- such as huge pores and an oily, shiny complexion. In at least one study, the medicinal Asian ginger powder has been reported to improve the skin structure. The antioxidants in ginger can help improve the appearance and even restore the skin.
- Matcha powder is green tea leaves and not only its extracts like in other forms of tea. That is why Matcha is the strongest form of green tea and the percentage of leave veins and stalks also makes it the highest quality. Matcha contains 10,5 g/ 100g catechin and is a rich source of vitamin C. Catechin is a polyphenol and a secondary metabolite of many plants. Besides it being immune-boosting, Matcha is also a treasure chest of antioxidant effects. Its high antioxidant content protects us from free harmful radicals which cause skin ageing. It is not easy to protect ourselves from them, but we can make sure to choose the correct ingredients that will fill our body with antioxidants.
