No worries, it is possible to eat creamy ice cream without milk. The secret ingredient is coconut milk!
We can of course use other vegan alternatives such as almond, soy or rice milk, but full-fat canned coconut milk is the best to achieve that creamy mixture.
There are many other ways of making vegan ice cream without freezing it just like frozen banana ice cream. And even though it doesn’t contain any milk, it is still beautifully creamy.
You can add other ingredients to the ice cream such as strawberries or even cookies and peanut butter.
How to make your own vegan ice cream?
There are so many ways!
The most common way us in an ice cream maker – but you can, of course, make it without the ice cream maker.
All we need is a high-speed blender!
1. Creamy chocolate ice-cream
Ingredients:
- 250g pitted dates
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 heaping tablespoon Cacao rice drink
- 3 tablespoons Cacao powder
- 3 tablespoons of water
- 1 tablespoon Coconut oil
Method:
In a food processor, mix together the pitted avocado, water and soaked dates. Blend into a thick paste and add cacao powder, rice drink and melted coconut oil. Blend again. If the mixture is to dry, add a tablespoon of water. Put in a container and place in the freezer.

3. Coconut recipe
Coconut ice cream is not only regular dairy ice cream. This creamy dessert is made out of coconut cream, coconut sugar and bourbon vanilla. Canned full-fat coconut milk gives this ice cream especially creamy rich flavour. We can finish it off with some coconut chips, fresh berries or favourite snacks.

5. Vegan forest berries ice-cream
INGREDIENTS
- 1 frozen banana
- frozen berries
- 400mL coconut milk
- 1 tablespoon agave syrup
- 2 tablespoons Coconut oil
METHOD
Put the can of coconut milk in the fridge for a few hours and then, using a spoon, take only the coconut cream out of the can. Discard the liquid or save it to make a fruit drink. In a blender mix the banana, berries, coconut cream, coconut oil and agave syrup. Blend till smooth, pour in a container of your choice and place in the freezer. Stir every so often so the ice-cream turns out creamier.
