MACA – a miracle plant and its effects
Maca is a plant that can be found at 4000 meters above sea level in the Andean mountain range, most commonly in Peru. It has been used for two millennia in the traditional diet and medicine.
It is believed to have beneficial effects on health, such as boosting sexual performance, antioxidant activity, antimicrobial action, improving skin appearance, improving digestion and much more.
Due to its high polysaccharide content, Maca is also an excellent supplement in the fight against fatigue, improving the immune system, as well as improving sleep and regulating the endocrine system. In vitro and in vivo researches also have shown that it helps protect the liver.
It is important for overcoming problems with sexuality.
Sexuality issues are becoming more common and have a huge impact on an individual’s life. 20-30% of men and 40-45% of women face these problems.
Maca improves libido, fertility and sexual potency, due to its naturally high content of phytosterols and phytoestrogens.
Other active substances that can have a beneficial effect on the phenomena described above and are found in Maca are: macaridine, macamides, glucosinolates, maca alkaloids,… 2.
We can say that Maca is still an unknown but wonderful plant with many beneficial effects on health. We believe that in the future it will be increasingly popular and used to help with variety of problems.
